Finding a Grant

When we discussed the types of grants that are available and the funding sources, we identified a variety of possible ways to find grants. Searchable online databases such as the Corporate Giving Database (http://developmentdirector.com/corporate.php), the Foundation Center (http://foundationcenter.org/), Foundations.org (http:// foundations.org), Government Grants (www.grants.gov) and Guidestar (www.guidestar.org) are potential ways to locate funding sources. Additionally ways to identify grants include communication with professional associations and university grant writers.

Once you identify a grant (assuming you already know why you need a grant), you then can begin the grant writing process.
